Goodbye beach!
There seems to be a possible epidemic, targeting 1st graders. Despite the seemingly pleasant demeanor of these cases pictured here, SPS or Short Pants Syndrome, can not be ignored. Send relief funds directly - we feel SPS is 100% curable! Let’s STOP SPS.
So Henry is petrified of washing his hair. He can be convinced to get in the bath and enjoys it, as long as there is a trusted promise that no hair will be washed. Imagine to his dismay, when he awoke in the middle of last night barking like an injured pup and wheezing (aka the croup). I brought him into the bathroom and turned on the steam - to losen up junk in his throat and ease breathing. “No, no bath…. I don’t want to wash my hair!” he screamed. All wheezy and troubled as he was …. just pathetic. A clearly distressing situation. Ok, no steam. The doctor said the cool air could help so I headed to the door to just walk and calm down. Instead he panicked again. What was he thinking? That I need to grab him in the middle of the night and wash his hair and rush him outside to take him to the vet or abandon him outside? Oh man, just not working poor fella. I open windows, put on a cartoon, and sit on the couch which seems to calm him down. Oh, sweet sweet TV. A 24 hour pharmacy and a dose of steroids seemed to have finish the trick. Recovering.
